I didn’t have a lot of time to study for exams 0011 and 0012, so I thought this condensed book would be helpful. The content of the actual chapters worked for me, however the practice exams were lacking. They do not provide you with a score conversion chart so there is no way to determine where you are scoring or if you are on target for a passing score! Also, as mentioned in previous reviews, some of the answers in the key are wrong. Overall, I would not recommend this book.

This book concentrates on three specific tests. Since I was taking 0014, I only concentrated on this material. I thought it was really good for an overview of the material, but you definitely need to study each topic more in-depth. The book highlighted things you need to know — definitions, dates, formulas, etc. — but the test was much more detailed in content. You need a full understanding to be able to interpret the subject matter well for the type of questions this test contained. Study hard!!

Quite a few errors in this book, such as typos and wrong answers given as correct or two different answers listed as correct. Also there is not a scoring chart or a break down of strengths and weaknesses so you know what areas you need to work on.

I had less than a month to study for the Elementary Ed: Content Knowledge Test (0014). I needed to take the test to become a highly qualified special educator. I looked at a lot of books before settling on this one, and I was very happy with my choice. The book gives you a brief overview of many of the topics that will be on the test so you do not have to dig through textbooks or search the web to brush up on concepts. I used this, videos on brainpop, and the ETS guide to study exclusively, and my score qualified for ETS recognition of excellence! However, like others have mentioned, the test in the back was not helpful. I purchased the retired test from ETS and found it to be a much better representation of what was actually on the test.
All in all, this book was worth every penny. Good luck as you prepare for your Praxis!
